Journalism is a class that originally, to be completely honest, I did not want to take. I had put it as my third choice when ranking my classes because I thought I had myself all figured out, I was going to take Cross Country and Theatre Tech. But near the end of the school yeah in 8th grade when we got our selected classes back, I was placed in Journalism and Costume Design instead, which I was not happy with. I sent back the paper with my hopeful corrections, and went into the summer. Going into Summer, I had plans to run every single day and make it to every single cross country practice and meet there was. I did not show up to a single one, and I only went running about three times the whole summer. (I quickly learned how much I HATE running in the heat) Since I didn't go to the practices, I could not be put on the team, So my schedule that I got at the end of 8th grade, became my reality.
Walking into this classroom on my first day was very stressful. I didn't know if I would know anyone, or if the teacher would be nice. I have always loved photography and film editing, but I have had trouble with writing, so I didn't know how well I would do in this class. But when I finally found the room and walked in, I was greeted by a welcoming group of friends and a super nice teacher. Taking this class has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I have learned so much. I have learned about media, different photo concepts, how to properly interview, and how to write all sorts of different papers.
